Combine sugar, egg yolks and milk. Cook over low heat until slightly thickened. Soften gelatin in cold water. Stir into custard mixture that has cooled slightly.
Continue cooling and when mixture is slightly thickened fold in stiffly beaten egg whites and the whipped cream.\\
