1 pound (4 sticks) butter, at room temperature
2 pounds (32 ounces) creamy peanut butter
3 pounds (approx. 11-1/4 cups) powdered sugar
2 tablespoons water
2-1/2 (12 ounce) packages (5 cups) chocolate chips
1/2 slab paraffin
Beginning with mixer and finishing by hand, mix butter, peanut butter, powdered sugar and water. Form into walnut-sized balls. Place on baking sheets and refrigerate for 1 hour or overnight.
Melt together chocolate chips and paraffin in a double boiler. Turn off heat, but leave chocolate over the hot water. Stab balls with a toothpick and dip in chocolate, leaving top part of ball uncovered. Place on wax paper to harden. Smooth toothpick hole with finger. Keep in a cool place.
