1 cup plus 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour\\
1 cup quick oats, uncooked\\
3/4 cup firmly packed light brown sugar\\
1/2 teaspoon baking soda\\
1/4 teaspoon salt\\
3/4 cup (1-1/2 sticks) butter or margarine, melted\\
1 jar (12-1/4 oz.) caramel topping\\
1 6 oz. pkg. (1 cup) semi-sweet chocolate chips\\
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
Preheat oven to 350F. In large mixer bowl, combine 1 cup flour and next
five (5) ingredients and beat at low speed until well mixed. Evenly pat
into an ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch baking pan. Bake 10 minutes. Meanwhile,
stir caramel topping and remaining 3 tablespoons flour until well mixed.
Remove pan from oven; sprinkle on chocolate chips and walnuts. Drizzle on
caramel mixture. Return pan to oven and continue baking 20 to 25 minutes
more or until browned. Cool before cutting. Cut into 36 bars, 2-3/4 x
1-inch.
