Butter, softened
14 to 15 slices white bread
3 cups diced cooked ham
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
6 eggs
3 cups milk

Butter both sides of each bread slice. Cut into cubes. Combine ham, cheese, salt and pepper with the bread cubes.
Beat eggs until foamy; add milk. Add egg mixture to bread mixture and combine. Put into a lightly greased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan and refrigerate overnight.
Bake at 350F. for 1 hour.
