Name: Lady and the Tramp's Spaghetti and Meatballs
Key Ingredient: spaghetti
Preparation: combine; bake
Cuisine: Italian
Source: Walt Disney's Mickey Mouse Cookbook
Food Group: meat
Meals: lunch; dinner
Courses: main
Temperature: hot
Effort: easy
Prep. Time: :15
Elasped Time: :30\\ Servings: 4 to 6
1 egg\\ 1 pound ground beef\\ 1/2 cup bread crumbs or\\ 2 slices bread, torn into tiny pieces
1/2 cup spaghetti sauce
1 teaspoon instant minced onion
1/2 teaspoon salt\\ Spaghetti sauce\\ Spaghetti, cooked
Grated Parmesan cheese
Preheat oven to 400F. Break egg into a large mixing bowl and beat it lightly with a fork. Add ground beef, bread crumbs, spaghetti sauce, instant minced onion and salt. Mix everything together with your hands. Keep squeezing the mixture and turning it around and around in the bowl.
Shape the mixture with your hands into 1-inch meatballs. Arrange them next to one another (but not touching) in a 13"x9"x2" baking pan.
Bake for 20 minutes. You don't have to turn the meatballs; they'll brown evenly. Put the drained hot spaghetti on a serving platter. With a slotted spoon, remove the meatballs from the baking pan and arrange them on top of the spaghetti. Pour the hot spaghetti sauce over everything. Serve with the grated cheese.
