1 lb. Italian sausage
1 lb. ground beef
1 (28 ounce) can (3 cups) tomatoes, undrained, cut up
1 (15 ounce) can (2 cups) tomato sauce
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 to 2 teaspoons chili powder
1 to 1-1/2 teaspoons cumin
1 teaspoon oregano leaves
1 (15 ounce) can chili beans, undrained
1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained

If sausage comes in casing, remove casing. In large skillet, brown sausage and ground beef; drain. In slow cooker, combine browned meat, tomatoes, tomato sauce, onion, sugar, salt, chili powder, cumin and oregano. Cook on low setting for 3 to 4 hours to allow flavors to blend.* Add chili beans and garbanzo beans, cook on low setting for 30 to 45 minutes or until mixture is hot. Garnish as desired.
Tip: * If desired, mixture can cook for 6 to 7 hours.
