Holy moly, I think I just got a twitch from wnaitng that so badly.Fortunately when I get home I'm totally going to hit that. I have one beautiful tomato left from my last farmers market visit and basil in my garden!!

1/2 cup sliced red onion\\
4 large ripe tomatoes (2 pounds), cut in quarters or eighths\\
1 tablespoon firmly packed brown sugar\\
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar\\

Freshly ground pepper\\
1/4 cup good, fruity olive oil\\
1 tablespoon minced fresh basil

Toss onion, tomatoes, brown sugar, vinegar, salt, pepper, olive oil and basil together in a large glass bowl, cover, and let marinate for several hours at room temperature, tossing every once in a while.
