Lexus, I never heard of that! Sounds delicious thgouh. My grandmother made something sort of similar which she called "moultashe" (mouth pockets). She prepared the potato dough like you described, then rolled it out, put a spoonful of jam in it, folded them over and placed them in a shallow pan. Then she made an egg sauce to pour over them and baked it.Thank you, Karen. I'll try to followup.

Hey! I recognize pottao candy when I see it.My Pennsylvania Dutch grandmother made it a bit differently. Boil the pottao 'til soft, peel it, add enough confectioners' sugar to create a dough and roll it out. Spread with peanut butter, roll it back up (like a cinnamon roll) and put in the fridge. Once cold and firm, cut into slices and eat. Yummy! Keep the candy refrigerated.Shoo-fly pie is what I miss most. Can't get it in Colorado.
