Maybe you could serve it with some plain unsweetened yorgut to cut the sweet taste. Next time you would cut back on the sugar and butter,as you've already figured out. Another idea next time would be to use apples that are more tart. Was this answer helpful?

I do mine a bit differently ..First of all, slice my apleps and mix them with cinnamon, white sugar (although brown is probably tasty too I am a creature of habit!) and sometimes, fresh cranberries (if I am in the mood for apple cranberry crisp). Mix well and pour in a buttered baking dish.Then I mix flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, more cinnamon and butter together until crumbly spread over the apleps and bake until bubbly.Good luck!
