2-1/2 cups granulated sugar\\

Cream 1/2 cup butter and 1-1/2 cups sugar; add eggs. Sift 3 cups flour, baking powder and salt; add to egg mixture alternately with milk. Add vanilla; blend well. Mixture will be fairly stiff. Smooth batter into greased 9 x 13 x 2-inch baking dish. Mix rhubarb and gelatin together; spoon mixture over batter. Crumble remaining flour, sugar and butter together; sprinkle over rhubarb mixture. Bake at 375F. for 35 to 40 minutes.
